And you think the snow is bad?

People are complaining about the havoc caused by snow across Britain but it could be worse. Have a thought for those living next to Lake Geneva in Switzerland in 2005.

The 26th of January 2005 it was a day that will not be forgotten by the swiss people who live on the shore of Lake Geneva. A rare conjunction of intense cold (-8 to -12 degrees Centigrade), very strong winds, blowing at over 110 kmh and the waves getting so high that the spray of droplets immediately froze as soon as they touched anything! The result was a world covered by ice.

just to say thank you so much for posting these, they are truly amazing and I am amazed that I didn't see them in UK media at the time.
